Bespoke Elopement at Carolina Country Weddings

"Imagine saying ‘I do’ surrounded only by the quiet rustle of leaves, your vows, and the one you love most."

That was the vision behind our recent elopement styled shoot — a celebration of love in its most intimate form, set in the secluded beauty of our forest ceremony site.

The Inspiration

We wanted to capture the magic of an elopement — the way it strips away the noise, the expectations, and the endless to-do lists, leaving only what matters: two people starting a life together.

For this shoot, we envisioned a scene that felt peaceful and organic, with a touch of romance woven into every detail.

The Setting

Our forest ceremony site was the perfect backdrop — a private, tree-lined haven that feels like it’s miles away from everything, yet is easily accessible (no hiking shoes required!).

Soft sunlight filtered through the leafy canopy overhead, creating a natural glow that made every photo feel like a storybook page. The pond nearby added another dreamy location for quiet portraits, while the open fields gave the shoot space to breathe.

An elopement isn’t “less” than a big wedding — it’s just a different way to tell your love story. It’s the freedom to be fully present, to focus on each other, and to start your marriage in a way that feels authentic to you.

Whether you’re actually planning an elopement or just love the intimate aesthetic, this shoot was a reminder of the power of simplicity.

Photographer’s Notes

This shoot was beautifully designed and photographed by the talented Tracee Gadson. Tracee says, “Imagine being wrapped in golden sunlight, just the two of you, whispering vows in an enchanted forest.” Tracee believes, “Your elopement should feel intimate, wild, and completely yours. Love like this belongs in wild places- where your hearts can rest and your story unfolds naturally.”

Notes from the Couple

Our Couple-in-Love are Emani and Dane. Imani’s reflections on the experience are profound. “In a world that often romanticizes the surface, I hold deep gratitude for a love that runs sacred and steady. This moment wasn’t just about pretty things- it was about presence. About feeling honored, held, and chosen. About the quiet power of being seen by the one you love.” Emani says, “This shoot reflected our energy: earthy, magical, intentional… Thank you for holding space for something sacred.”

The Details

Of course, we love all the pretty things as well, especially the boho vibes from this glorious pink rug. And this wildflower themed bouquet from the Gold Hill Flower Company is just perfect. We love sourcing locally, and with the Gold Hill Flower Company located less than four miles from the venue, you are guaranteed farm fresh flowers grown by our neighbors Melissa and Drew!

We kept the decor intentionally simple — a hand-tied bouquet of seasonal blooms, a romantic picnic for two with delicate details, and natural textures that blended seamlessly into the surroundings.

The bride wore a boho gown with lace details that perfectly fit the forest theme, her hair styled in loose waves for that effortless, just-married feel. The “groom” kept it casual and comfortable, letting the natural backdrop (and his bride!) take center stage.
