Alexandra & Derek’s Joyful April Wedding at Carolina Country Weddings

Some love stories unfold slowly and sweetly—and Alexandra and Derek’s was just that. These two met while working at Lawrence Hall in Chicago after Alexandra moved there for an internship. They started as friends, but over time (and a few job changes), their connection only grew stronger until one day, friendship turned into something even more meaningful.

On April 26, surrounded by the people who love them most, Alexandra and Derek tied the knot right here at Carolina Country Weddings in Mt. Pleasant, NC. The day was full of light, laughter, and joy—just like the couple themselves. They wanted the celebration to feel ethereal, fun, and carefree, and every part of the day reflected that vision perfectly.

From the quiet excitement of getting ready to the high-energy dance floor later that night, it was a day full of heartfelt moments and happy memories. The ceremony included a sweet ring bearer and flower girl, personal vows, and that classic moment everyone waits for—the kiss! Afterward, guests enjoyed cocktail hour, a delicious dinner, and a dance floor that stayed packed all night long.

Some of our favorite moments included the first dance, a touching mother-daughter and mother-son dance, and even a brother-sister dance. These two clearly love their families deeply, and the whole evening felt like a big joyful reunion.

We also loved how Alexandra and Derek brought bits of their personalities into the day. They’re into camping, thrifting, cooking, concerts, board games, murder mystery nights, and cheering on the Chiefs—basically, they know how to have a good time. That playful energy showed up in every detail of their wedding.

The couple…

Bathed in golden hour glow, the Alexandra and Derek lean in close, grinning like they have the best secret in the world. With the sun on their faces and the evening breeze in the air, it’s the perfect fairytale moment!

The girls…

Alexandra and her girls strike a playful pose, hiding behind their bouquets while the bride cheekily shows off her new ring. It’s a fun, lighthearted moment that perfectly captures the joy of the day.

The bride…

Alexandra wears a simple satin gown with thin straps and a pearl-dotted veil draped over her shoulder. Her hair is loosely pinned back with soft waves, and she’s standing by the wooden fence in the fields of Carolina Country Weddings.

Their incredible vendor team made everything come together beautifully:

Alexandra and Derek, it was such a joy to host your big day. We’re so thankful you chose to celebrate with us and we wish you a lifetime of cozy nights, great food, and beautiful adventures.
